Enrollment Steps for Sectigo\/Comodo SMIME Certificates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>After placing an order for an SMIME certificate, enroll it from your dashboard. Locate your order and click the \u2018Enroll<\/strong>\u2019 button underneath the order ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/mark><\/strong> To proceed with the enrollment, you must generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)<\/strong>. You can use any online tool to generate a CSR or use our CSR generator tool<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/mark><\/strong> Enter a hostname<\/strong>. It can be your individual name<\/strong> or organization name<\/strong>. It is not required to enter your email ID on the CSR fields as you will be asked for the email address on the enrolment page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4<\/mark><\/strong>: <\/strong>After entering the hostname, click on \u2018Generate Now<\/strong>\u2019. A Certificate Signing Request (CSR)<\/strong> and its corresponding private key<\/strong> will be created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Make sure that you\u00a0download the private key and safely store it in your machine<\/strong>\u00a0because once the page is closed, you cannot retrieve the private key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>After saving the private key, copy the CSR to paste it in the enrolment page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 7:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>Paste the CSR in the <\/strong>\u2018Input CSR<\/strong>\u2019 box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 8:<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>Fill in the Requester Contact Information<\/strong> and make sure that you enter the email address for which you need the SMIME certificate<\/strong> and submit the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 9:<\/mark> <\/strong>Now, the order is enrolled successfully<\/strong>, and you must prove your control over the email address that you provided. For this, the certificate authority will send you an email. Locate the email in your inbox<\/strong> and click on the URL to prove your email ownership<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 10:<\/mark> <\/strong>Check the \u2018Subscriber Agreement<\/strong>\u2019 box and submit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 11:<\/mark><\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0Now return back to the\u00a0order details page and refresh it<\/strong>. If the status changes to \u2018Active\u2019<\/strong>,\u00a0the<\/strong><\/span> certificate is issued<\/strong>. You can click on the\u00a0download certificate icon<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0download the certificate zip file<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 12:<\/mark>\u00a0<\/strong>You must\u00a0create a PFX or .p12 file to use the SMIME certificate. There are two ways to do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op 1: <\/strong>You can use the downloaded certificate and the private key that was created with the CSR and create a PFX file using any online SSL convertor<\/strong><\/a> or openssl command<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op 2:\u00a0<\/strong>You can contact our support team and\u00a0ask for a collection email. Follow the steps below.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-> Once the collection email is sent, click on \u2018Collect Certificate<\/strong>\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-> Upload your private key<\/strong>, set a password, and click on \u2018Download Bundle<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-> Your PFX or .p12 file will be downloaded<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
